Last year I was fortunate enough to be asked to be the vocalist for Big Band arranger and Soul Music songwriter Al Loyd. Al needed a vocalist able to recreate the crystal clear vocal tone of Karen Carpenter with the delivery of Dionne Warwick. I jumped at the chance to give it my best shot as I grew up singing along to both singers and felt that I would be a good fit for his recording project. Following the successful EP recording ‘A Moment In Time’, Al invited me to sing for his big band project ‘Mosaic’, a reinvented and live version of the same track, supported by his incredible big band, It was a wonderful experience to work with Al Loyd and his big band.
