About

Emma has been working within the music industry for over 20 years as a vocalist and songwriter, performer, session singer and teacher. Her work has taken her around the UK and, session singer and as a top line writer, working with producers globally. She is a sought after vocalist in the Southwest of England, consistent, reliable and easy to work with. Emma’s musicality and understanding of live sound engineering is an additional skill, desirable in a competitive industry.

Brought up in Devon, England, Emma has developed her skills in performance from small venues and clubs through to larger theatre stages, verifying this with a Masters in Music Performance (M.Mus), achieving a distinction. Emma always knew she would work within the performing arts, predominantly music, from an early age. When asked by her secondary school career’s adviser ‘what do you want to do when you leave school?’ she answered ‘I know I want to work in the performing arts sector, mostly music, definitely singing…then maybe later down the line, I’ll do some teaching too’ to which the advisor said ‘you should probably have a back up plan’.

She never had a back up plan.

Opportunities began to open up, recording with a top sound engineer at ‘The Church’ Studios (Dave Stewart) at 15, managed by A&R for Stereophonics at 17, writing and recording with E&N records from 18, and working as a professional lead singer for a soul band from 19, experiencing all sides of the music industry in just a few early years.

As Emma continued to develop her skills and has always stayed true to her original career plan and in 2015, completing a BA in Music (1st), which kick started a successful music and arts teaching role.

Emma has continued to work professionally as a singer alongside vocal tuition and project such as her amazing Gospel Choir - Soul of the City. (www.soulofthecity.co.uk)
